Towards the first year-round continuous measurement of soil respiration at tundra warming experiment sites in Svalbard

Towards the first year-round continuous measurement of soil respiration at tundra warming experiment sites in Svalbard

The main goal of this project is to understand ecosystem C balance with summer and winter warming in Arctic tundra ecosystem by observations of ecosystem CO2 fluxes. Below are the three main objectives of this project. 1) Understand and quantify annual ecosystem C balance in high Arctic tundra with passive warming 2) Testing the applicability of new technology in continuous observations of CO2 fluxes year-round 3) Create collaborations among several different research groups in understanding the effects of warming on ecosystem C balance in high Arctic tundra.
