Municipal Assemblies in European Local Governance in Change (MAELG)
Themes under investigation are the recruitment and career patter of elected councillors, the role of parties in local governments, councils/councillors and variations in notions of democracy and the implications of administrative reforms. Data has been collected from approximately 12 000 elected representatives in a sample of municipalities in 14 European countries (in 2009).
