Espen Jettestuen har en dr. scient. i faste stoffers fysikk fra Universitetet i Oslo. Hans forskerinteresser er innenfor komplekse systemers fysikk, og i særdeleshet vekst av overflater, reaktiv transport, en- og flerfasestrømning, transport i porøse medier og bruddmekanikk. Han har jobbet både som bruker og utvikler av numeriske metoder for vitenskapelig modellering.
