Children's Mental Health
Increaseing the professional knowledge of children and young people's mental health
Neglect, physical and psychological abuse, bullying, parents illness, or having poor economy can do something about the mental health of children and young people.
The child's experiences at school or in kindergarten, and any contact with child welfare and foster care are also influencing how the child's mental health is.
One of the most important work we do is to increase the professional knowledge of children and young people's mental health. We initiate and carry out research projects, preferably in collaboration with other competence centers and research institutions, in areas such as mapping, investigation, measures and prevention. We also work to summarize research and make it available so that the services can use the knowledge that exists.
Training and skills development is another major part of our work. We arrange everything from courses and course series to multi-year teaching programmes, for professionals and managers in the services.
Most of our efforts in this area is carried out at our centre Regional Centre for Child and Youth Mental Health and Child Welfare.
