Artificial intelligence

Smart computers

Artificial Intelligence (AI) refers in a broad sense to computers or in general machines that are programmed to perform complex functions usually associated with cognition (learning, problem-solving, etc.). Typical problems tackled by AI research can involve knowledge representation, planning, learning, natural language processing, perception and the ability to move and manipulate objects. Used in the correct way, AI can also automate complicated processes involving large and diverse data sets, diminish the risk of human errors and give a solid basis for improved decisions.

NORCE has a rich cross-disciplinary expertise which is important for seeing the potential in the use of AI, but also for adapting methods, satisfy the actual needs of the users and anticipate the potential problems that the use of AI may entail. Our experience with AI covers a wide range of research and industry projects.
