The project aims to develop innovative mooring systems for floating wind farms based on fiber ropes, including new and more efficient methods for
- installation
- condition monitoring
- maintenance
- decommissioning
The project shall deliver three different mooring systems
The main R&D challenge is obtaining and modelling the material properties of the fiber ropes
The project has 14 partners: 9 from industry, including Aibel and Equinor, 3 research institutes, including IFE and NORCE, and 3 rope suppliers.
NORCE will contribute with testing and with procedures for condition monitoring and maintenance.
