Sverre Litleskare graduated with a medical degree from the University of Bergen (UoB) in 2011. He was then an intern at Haukeland University Hospital and at Dalen Legesenter in Fyllingsdalen. After this he has been a part-time researcher at AFE and UiB and part-time specializing in family medicine. He has worked several years as a nursery home doctor, and is currently working 50% as a general practitioner at Minde Medisinske Senter.
The PhD project was a part of the larger Giardia project, and investigated complications after the Giardia outbreak in Bergen 2004. He defended his doctoral degree August 22, 2019. He started as a senior researcher at AFE in a 50% position September 1, 2019.
His research interests include gastroenteritis outbreaks, post-infectious conditions, gastrointestinal diseases, medically unexplained disorders and epidemiology.
He is also currently working on getting funding for a project: Angry Bowels: Can a mobile Game be an Effective Management for Irritable Bowel Syndrome?
