Marie Pontoppidan is the research leader in the Regional Climate and Climate Services group.
We work with applied research on a time scale ranging from present climate to climate projections, and we are happy to work with our network of private and commercial actors.
I have a PhD within dynamical downscaling of climate models and currently works within citizen science and coproduction of climate information where we, through two-way discussions with the users, produce relevant and reliable climate information - in a format that reasonable and usable by our partners.
Recently, I have focused primarily on climate in Norway and I am currently in co-production projects with citizen science focus on rainfall and fruit pollination under climate change. I have also worked on seasonal forecasting in East Africa and marine heat waves. My modeling experience ranges from running a pure atmosphere model to a coupled atmosphere and ocean model, as well as analysis and interpretation of data from this.
