I hold a PhD in rhetoric and media studies and research language, argumentation and discourse in debates about societal challenges related to climate change and the environment. My research is mainly based on qualitative textual analysis of communication and debate in different genres, among them political debates and documents, speeches, and journalistic texts. I am also interested in investigating how people receive and respond to various modes of communication and argumentation about climate change, environmental problems, and sustainability.
I am particularly concerned with issues of democracy, citizenship, and the public sphere. In the article “Rhetorical citizenship and the environment” (2023), you can read more about how I approach these issues in relation to climate change and the environment.
