About me:
I am a Ph.D. scholar within Child Welfare at Regional Knowledge Center for Children and Youth, RKBU Vest, in the Health and Society division at NORCE.

I have a bachelor's degree in psychology and a master's degree in child welfare. I have previously worked as a research assistant at RKBU Vest, with unaccompanied refugee minors and in the Child Welfare Service.
My research interests include child welfare, migration, children, and young people.

My Ph.D. project:

The title of my Ph.D. project is Contact and Continuity for children with migration background in foster care. A study of children and parents' experiences (MigSam).

In the Ph.D. project, I look at how children and parents with a migration background experience contact and contact arrangements in the Child Welfare Services.

We will have a particular focus on the quality of the collaboration between children, parents, foster parents and child welfare services. Furthermore, we will look at children's opportunities to influence the contact arrangement, as well as the importance of language, culture and identity when arranging contact between children and parents.

It is a qualitative study where we use photo elicitation and interview with children and parents.

Funding: The Ph.D. project is funded by Stiftelsen Dam.

Supervisors: Marte Knag Fylkesnes, Milfrid Tonheim

The Ph.D. project is linked to a larger study: Home and (dis)continuity: Foster homes for children with a migration background (HoMi).
